Sims 4 lovers everywhere rejoice! The Sims 4 has released toddlers in a FREE patch. That’s right, you read that right in a FREE update. How exciting is that? We have been asking for toddlers since it first came out and now they have it to us for free. I’m just so excited about this update. I know I am kind of late to announce this since it came out last week, but for those of you who haven’t updated your game yet, go and do it.
Now we don’t have babies and then straight to kids! Now the game is realistic. Babies, toddlers then kids. I can’t even describe how cute the toddlers look. It’s just freaking amazing.
How big is the update and what does it include?
The update file is massive. You will need 1.9GB to download it. Yeah that just shows how much stuff they are adding for free. It really does make me happy, because you know I complained a lot about the sims 4 in my city living review. Now they have restored my faith and I shall continue to play the sims 4.
So, you must be wondering why the update is so big? Well the update includes the toddler life stage (duh), 6 toddler hairs, 2 toddler hats, 3 toddler glasses, 8 toddler tops, 6 toddler full body outfits, 8 toddler bottoms, 3 toddler body accessories and 3 toddler shoes. There are also 8 unique toddler traits and 19 toddler-specific new items. Woah, right? So many stuff for FREE! I still can’t get over the fact that this update was for free. I was really expecting EA to add toddlers in an expansion pack or something.
How needy are toddlers?
Parents are now required to teach their kids to walk, talk etc just like the Sims 3. There are also extra other skills that you will need to teach your toddlers. What I have noticed is that the toddlers in the game are really realistic. Just like in real life, they are very needy and require the utmost attention. I think it’s virtually impossible to raise a toddler in the sims 4 when both parents are working. You must have one stay home or hire a nanny. I personally don’t trust the nannies since they don’t seem to teach the kids anything. They just make sure their needs are met. Since in my game both parents are working, I searched the internet for cheats.
Here are the cheats I found for toddlers:
Before you enter in any of these codes, make sure you have testingcheats enabled.
Toddler Imagination (max 5): Toddler_Imagination (x)
Toddler Communication (5): Toddler_Communication (x)
Toddler Movement (5): Toddler_Movement (x)
Toddler Potty (3): Toddler_Potty (x)
Toddler Thinking (5): Toddler_Thinking (x)
Example on how to enter in the code: stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_toddler_movement 5
The toddler needs are bladder, hunger, fun, attention, energy and hygiene. Yes, like I said before they need all the attention in the world!
If you want to max out a certain need like hunger or bladder you just need to type in
An example of how it should look: fillmotive motive_hygiene
If you want to max out all needs: sims.fill_all_commodities
I personally use the second one since it maxs it out everything.
If you want to change a toddler’s mood simply have testingcheats enabled and then shift+click on the toddler. This will give you some extra options to choose from.
To get the playful buff: Sims.add_buff PlayfulHigh
To get the energized buff: Sims.add_buff EnergizedHigh
Removing buffs: Sims.remove_all_buffs
Removing buffs can really be helpful if you toddler is in a bad mood.
What else is new?
There is a new vampire themed game pack coming out as well. Yay! But I don’t see myself buying since It’s a gamepack and not an expansion pack. I personally see gamepacks as a waste of money since they are just basically a stuff pack with a little more interaction. I shall patiently wait for the next expansion, and I really do hope the next expansion pack will be a game changer. Like I would like to see seasons, pets etc. I seriously hope it’s better than city living and get together.
I am really impressed with what the sims 4 team has done. Letting us have toddlers for free shows that they are trying to move in the right direction. I personally was losing faith in the Sims 4 franchise, but this has truly made me rethink my decision. I hope we will continue to see these types of progress later on this year. The first thing being releasing a new expansion pack. I desperately want a seasons or pets expansion pack. Think how cool it would be to have pets?
Are you guys as excited as I am for toddlers? Do you think this update is a little too late? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
